Decarbonising our business
Greengiving is all about green and sustainability. Not only regarding our products, but also when it comes to our way of doing business. We always evaluate our processes and look for ways to make them more sustainable. An important part of this eco-minded entrepreneurship is our greenhouse gas footprint. To minimise the gas emissions, we focus on three things: reuse, recycle and reduce. For the operations where we're not able to reduce (at this moment), we'll compensate.
Reuse and recycle
We reuse cardboard boxes as much as we can
We transform old cardboard boxes into filling material
The energy that is generated by our solar panels, are used to power the machines in our warehouse
We don't use single-use bottles and cups
Ink cartridges are collected for recycling
Reduce
We minimise our email flows and data storage
We minimise transport by keeping our own stock and making smart purchasing choices
We reduce the commuting emissions by electric driving, biking and using public transport
We choose logistic partners that make an effort of climate neutral transport
Our roadmap to 2024
In the coming years we will carefully measure our greenhouse gas footprint to understand where our emissions come from and target our efforts on reducing our emissions. For a small part we cannot avoid that we have to compensate.

Compensation CO2-emissions
Greengiving is growing, and with it - unfortunately - our emissions. Although we do everything we can to reduce emissions, there are areas where this is difficult. This concerns the commuting of our employees, container transport and data traffic (mail and website). We compensate the emissions for these components via Trees for All. With this we support certified forestry projects.
The CO2-calculation does not include the emissions from the production and transport of the products. Since this involves a chain, it is (for the time being) very complicated to map this out for many products. We will be discussing this with our suppliers in the upcoming years.
