Explanation of CO2-emission targets

Energy consumption - Greengiving office

You will find 157 solar panels on the roof of our building. In recent years, more energy has been generated than consumed. This remains our objective for the upcoming years. Additional solar panels will be installed if necessary.

Emissons for commuting and company car

Commuting is not likely to decrease in the coming years, since Greengiving continuously grows and the number of FTEs increases. One of our colleagues drives an electric car, this will probably be expanded in the future. In addition, a number of colleagues come by bicycle or train. We certainly try to encourage this. For the commuting component, we compensate our emissions.

Container transport

We import seed paper and (a number of) cotton bags from India. We compensate for the emissions of this transport (by boat).

Data traffic

As from 2021, we've included e-mail data traffic in our emissions calculation. In addition, the energy consumption of our website is compensated through the CO2 Neutral Website initiative. Our website is therefore carbon neutral. We use 'green' data servers, reduce the size of our emails, work with an online customer portal and regularly clean up the database.

Ship orders carbon neutral

All orders from our warehouse are sent carbon neutral via DPD. The aim is to increase this number in the coming years, so even more orders are shipped carbon neutral. For the orders that are shipped from our suppliers directly to the end customer, carbon neutral transportation is more difficult to achieve, because we have no direct influence on this. However, we notice that more and more suppliers and other logistics partners are switching to climate-neutral shipping.

Carbon neutral printing

Orders sent from our warehouse are printed carbon neutral. The printing machines run on the energy we generate thanks to our solar panels. As our printing activities continue to develop, more and more products can be printed carbon neutral.

Map CO2 emissions per product

In order to provide our customers with better insights about the sustainability of the products, we want to map out the gas emissions per product. This is a complex project, in which we depend on the cooperation of our suppliers. For some products, we know the gas emissions, others are still being looked into.
